The Joyful Path to " HAPPY ECOLOGY"

For Chubu Nihon Plastics Co., Ltd. to truly live up to its "HAPPY Ecology" corporate philosophy, more people need to genuinely enjoy and feel good about participating in ecology activities.

Luckily, we have talent like Tyler from our in-house design department. His work is key to making ecology engaging and enjoyable for everyone.

He brings a sense of humor and upcycling activities that add creativity and sophistication to the company's initiatives.

In 2006, after graduating from Bunka Fashion College, he started the upcycled apparel brand “desertic.” His “Liquid Knit” reconstructs clothes using second-hand sweaters and leftover fabric. He also created "Vintage Knit Patchwork" using knitwear collected from around the world. His unique worldview has attracted the attention of many celebrities, leading to collaborations with Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons and Shigesato Itoi of Hobonichi.

2006 Graduated from the Bunka Fashion College and started the upcycled apparel brand “desertic.”
2007 After collaborating with Comme des Garçons, he expanded to sell in multi-brand shops nationwide, including Isetan Shinjuku and Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi.
2007 With vintage knitwear from around the world, he started a remake brand “LiquidKnit.”
2008 Exclusive designer for Shigesato Itoi’s office (now Hobonichi).
2009 Started “knitchair,” using vintage knit patchwork on EAMES chairs. Sold in stores worldwide, including New York, Hong Kong, Paris, and Tokyo via Comme des Garçons.
2012 Sold the world’s first one-legged stool by Eero Saarinen as the “knitstool.”
2012 Opened desertic’s atelier shop in Ura-Omotesando. / Formed the art-tailer unit HARRY & TYLER.
2014 Collaborated on items at DOVER STREET MARKET GINZA (Rei Kawakubo’s shop).
2014 Launched the first apparel collaboration items with interior fabric manufacturer “Knoll Textile.”
2015 Produced the lifestyle salon HEIGHTS, proposing organic beauty items and fashion. Designed the store’s interior and decorations.
2016 Designed uniforms for the high-resolution imaging equipment manufacturer “ASTRO.”
2017 Collaborated with Gion Kyoto’s “Naito” on the beach sandal “JOJO,” sold at department stores nationwide.
2019 Designed the official record bag for diskunion.
2020 Launched the upcycled apparel brand OFFICIAL GHOST with musician Shinichi Osawa.
2021 Creative Director of the “ECONET PROJECT” at Chubu Nihon Plastics Co., Ltd.
